  • Reducing the consumption of beef and pork meat also helps
  1. Refuse Plastic Straws
  • Annual consumption in EU28: 36.4 billion drinking straws
  • Used for minutes and then break down for 200 years on a landfill
  • Skip the straw and sip your drink
  • Get a reusable one (steel, glass, bamboo) and take it with you on adventures
  1. Say No To Plastic Cutlery
  • 6 million tons of nondurable plastics like forks, spoons and knives are discarded annualy, worldwide
  • Used for minutes and then breaks down for up to 1000 years on a landfill
  • Made from fossil fuels – huge carbon footprint
  • Carry your own reusable cutlery to takeaways (you can make a ,,takeaway kit” with reusable utensils and a straw to always carry in your handbag, it´s that easy!

 

  1. Get a bamboo toothbrush(or another compostable)

 

  • Denmark alone has a consumption of toothbrushes that corresponds to 600 tons of plastic
  • Made from fossil fuels – huge carbon footprint
  • Recycling is very complicated and therefore very rare
  • Get a bamboo toothbrush
  • Bamboo toothbrush is compostable
  • Bamboo is a fast growing plant, doesn´t require the use of pesticides

5. Get A Reusable Water Bottle

  • Single-use plastic bottles release toxic chemicals such as bisphenol-A (BPA) into your drink
  • Plastic bottles are easy to recycle but it is even better if you can avoid buying them (recycling uses lots of water and energy)
  • Get a reusable bottle and save the environment and your money
